MAPLIN ELECTRONICS “LET THE STAFF STAY” CAMPAIGN.
The Biscuit Agency have created a new TV campaign for Maplin, this is the electronics store’s first new TV ad in 7 years.
The 10 and 30 second TV spots focus on Maplin staff and their friendly and unrivalled knowledge of all things technological.
Maplin appointed Biscuit to create the new campaign after a five way pitch in November.
Commissioned by Dave Whittle and Chantel Clarke at Maplin, the advert literally takes the great staff at Maplin home to the customer.
It also features newly designed graphic sequences to promote the latest products available at Maplin. Created in-house by Biscuits new Motion Graphic department who have also created a new animating mnemonic for the Maplin brand, showing the diversity of products available at the store.
The advert itself is fun and unexpected – taking a pop at the set-in-store style of many retail adverts.
It features a lovely couple who like Maplin staff so much they want to take them home – 4 of them in fact.
Creatives James Banks & Tom Wattridge wrote the script. Production was by Biscuit Tin, Biscuit Agency’s in house production arm.
The spot was directed by Matt Carter.
