45% yoy sales increase, solely due to the packaging re-design

Glenrothes has a beautiful bottle. We could have put it in an expensive box constructed from handmade papers. We could have commissioned illustrations of Speyside wilderness to decorate the box. We could have unearthed some images from the distillery’s past. Men with those staring eyes you get on old photographs. An old sign maybe. Or a barrel. We could have laid down twenty-odd spot colors, three foil blocks and a blind emboss or two. We could have.
But we didn’t. Glenrothes is a challenger brand. Challenging on Authenticity. And what’s more authentic than the sample bottle itself?
So our designers put the sample bottle center stage, mounted it on a aluminum plinth for stability and framed it in a simple cardboard wrap. And sales went through the roof – 45% yoy sales increase, solely due to the packaging re-design.
