Julie believes that the starting point for any brief lies in the real understanding of what makes the consumer tick and, consequently, spends a great deal of her time out and about talking face to face to understand the attitudes behind the behaviour. Discovering a market or consumer truism can often be the touch paper that brings a strategy to life and is always the start point to any creative development.

Her career in advertising started in the 1980’s at FCB where she worked on Heinz, Kraft and London Transport before moving onto a smaller, highly creative agency FCO where she won awards on Guinness, Faberge Brut and IDV. In the 1990’s, she launched Sol in the UK and headed up new business and planning at Griffin Bacal and was one of the management team that helped grow the agency from a billing of £6m to £40+ responsible for Carlsberg Tetley, Ryanair, Burberry and Scotch House and consultancy for the BBC.

Following a break to have her 3 children, Julie joined Mustoes in 2003 and has been part of the Kindred team since its inception. Here at Kindred Julie has helped many brands find success after immersing herself in their audiences, from milk and cosmetics, to beer and baby cot brands.
