Global Training Platform - HP Smarts

Overview

Knit worked with sales agency CPM to develop a global e-learning platform, HP SMARTS, to educate, train and incentivise in-store sales staff involved in the sales and promotion of HP products.

Campaign

Using Knit’s user-centric approach, the team firstly devised a detailed plan to manage this large scale, multi-platform global training solution.  Knit worked closely with HP to fully understand the business objectives.  Then user experience research, including one-to-one interviews and focus groups were carried out to form valuable results.  This insight enabled Knit to shape the design, and development of the project to ensure HP SMARTS would meet user requirements, was ‘on brand’ and was fit for purpose. 

Knit developed a responsive mobile training platform that included a dedicated iOS and Android app plus a web app that could work together to deliver offline access for users.Content was developed together with HP stakeholders and includes interactive learning through short modules, downloads, competitions and quizzes presented in a highly visual way.  The modules use imagery and video content to engage with users who complete the quizzes to collect points. These points can be used to redeem rewards such as vouchers, to incentivise continued usage of the platform.

The solution is fully customisable and easy to update for each territory, and offers full reporting on usage statistics. Different levels of permissions are set to users to control access to certain areas of the solution, which so far has been translated into over 12 languages to date.  

Results

HP SMARTS is a flexible and intuitive platform that is used worldwide to help HP employees, agency employees and retail store staff improve their knowledge on HP products to improve sales. The solution has helped to build a community of users who are increasing their HP product knowledge and sales techniques to ensure HP remain at the forefront of the IT and computing industry.
