McCann Manchester has further strengthened its planning and insight team with the news that it has made a major hiring by recruiting Lisa Tomlinson as Joint Planning Director.

McCann Manchester has further strengthened its planning and insight team with the news that it has made a major hiring by recruiting Lisa Tomlinson as Joint Planning Director.

The hiring marks a return to Bonis Hall for Lisa Tomlinson who left the agency just over two years ago to become Planning Director of BJL.
Prior to her first stint at McCann and her subsequent spell at BJL, Lisa Tomlinson spent two years as a key member of the corporate strategy team at Littlewoods. Before that she held a number of planning roles over an eight year period at Ogilvy One in London where she worked on accounts including American Express, IBM, The Open University and Royal Mail.

During her stint at BJL, Lisa worked on a range of sectors and across B2B and B2C. Lisa has helped develop the strategic and insight driven thinking in the agency and leaves a strong team in place.
Lisa is scheduled to start at McCann in early Spring 2011 and will be sharing the planning role with Joint Planning Director Jamie Peate and between them they will head up a planning and insight team of nine people.

Jamie Peate joined McCann earlier this year as Insight Director as a result of McCann’s acquisition of the Blue Banana research agency.

Commenting on the appointment, McCann Chief Executive Sue Little said, “Great creative and great thinking starts with genuine insights and strong planning and we are delighted to have hired a planning director of Lisa’s calibre. This is the first time we have had a Joint Planning Director at the agency and the hiring represents our desire to take a fresh and new approach on a number of fronts. We believe Lisa’s skills and background are a perfect complement to Jamie’s experience and the combination of the two will enable us to field one of the strongest planning and insight teams outside of London.

“In 2011 we are looking to drive significant growth with both existing and new clients and one of the underpinning themes of our corporate strategy is find new and innovative ways of working and delivering solutions for clients. Planning and Insight will sit at the heart of this approach,” Sue Little adds.
