Aldi is the UK’s fastest growing supermarket and over the past five years it has grown market share and sales to record highs. McCann Manchester has been the agency behind all of Aldi’s marketing communications work from the highly successful “Like Brands” advertising campaign through to Aldi’s growing online presence.

The multi award winning ‘Like Brands’ campaign has been central to shifting perceptions, driving market share and sales. This is being underpinned by an increasingly sophisticated digital strategy designed to take the sentiment of “like Brands” into social channels while at the same providing digital utilities designed to be of real use to consumers.

At the heart of this strategy has been the development of a comprehensive app for Aldi running across iOS and Android devices to help Aldi’s customers plan for Christmas while at the same time showcasing the range, quality and value of products on offer at Aldi to potential customers.

In one month the app secured nearly 73,000 downloads and was top 20 in Apple’s lifestyle apps while securing a 4.5 star rating.
