Co-founder & Chief Experience Officer

Darrel co-founded Rufus in 1989 alongside Neil Svensen after working at celebrated design consultancy Wolff Olins as a print designer, where he worked on large-scale brand rollouts for clients such as Halifax, BT and Midland Bank.

Now, as Chief experience officer at Rufus, Darrel is responsible for day-to-day resourcing, planning and quality control 
of information architecture and usability testing. His client experience includes John Lewis Partnership, BT, InterContinental Hotels Group, British Gas, O2 and Shell.

Darrel’s on a mission to simplify and improve life, one experience at a time, and loves anything made by Apple, making things himself, junk shops, green space and growing his own strawberries.

When it comes to his work, Darrel’s inspired by Louis Sullivan’s mantra: form follows function.
