Translating the Cafe experience into digital.

BRIEF

Create a new high-street brand from scratch in collaboration with SomeOne and VCCP. We were responsible for crafting the digital experience of the brand.


INSIGHT AND APPROACH

Far from being conventional, we wanted the company website to set a precedent for the shops, providing a taste of things to come. Central to this idea was a personal approach and informal style, articulating Harris + Hoole’s passion for coffee and the coffee making process. We also wanted to put people and place at the centre of the experience.
To achieve this we used the personalities behind the brand and the shop environments to bring credibility to the brand promise and offering.

THE SOLUTION

We created a simple but effective company website, produced to support the brand launch and to coincide with the opening of the first shop in Amersham. Even on the website we wanted to provide a tangible sense of the vibrant and relaxed atmosphere people can expect when they go into a Harris + Hoole. So like the shops, we used coffee paraphernalia and interior design details (fixtures, fittings, furnishings and finishes) to create a tactile and welcoming experience. We also created an internal microsite based on the same design language, providing Tesco executives with context about the brand and setting expectations of the in-store experience ahead of their visits to the first shops.
