BRIEF

To create a seamless experience for a unique mobile payments service uniquely housed within the mobile banking apps of 5 major high street banks.

 

INSIGHT AND APPROACH

The way the current landscape works means that customers have to subscribe to a service and pass their payment details to it, be it credit, or debit card information. These are currently held behind a username and password. What if a customer didn’t have to pass any personal details to the merchant? If there's no information to hand over that would give greater control to a customer. If you linked directly to their bank app they would have the added benefit of being able to check their balance before paying for anything.

 

THE SOLUTION

On the surface Zapp appears very simple ­ you click to pay for something, type a code in your banking app and the payment is authorised. Its complexity comes from effectively solving the edge cases within any combination of interactions across multiple channels to reach a successful conclusion. Else worked to anticipate and remedy a these edge cases in the context of the whole experience advising the Zapp development team on the effective implementation of their revolutionary payments platform.
