This week, we've launched a new Radio 2 trail to support one of the most unique and challenging projects in the station’s history, by showcasing the Radio 2 schedule in a single day.

‘2 Day' will be broadcast on Wednesday 22 June from 7am and will celebrate the station's distinctive programming by taking the best of the week and squeezing it into 12 non-stop excitement hours, featuring a stellar line-up of Radio 2 presenters.  It’s set to be all of Radio 2 in one amazing day of uniquely created content.

The day will see some great BBC Radio 2 talent pair up including Simon Mayo and Jamie Cullum who will kick off the day at 7am, with Chris Evans and Zoe Ball rolling back the rock n roll years at noon. Jeremy Vine and Dermot O'Leary are set to host a show celebrating the network's documentary output, whilst Tony Blackburn and Trevor Nelson bring an hour of soul. The whole day will finish with Sir Terry Wogan hosting a live streamed music concert with Jools Holland and the Radio 2 All Star band with some very special guests.

We launched the campaign on Monday across TV, Radio, and online to raise awareness of the big event.  ‘2Day’ will also be captured by a behind the scenes camera crew, as well as extra audio content, to ensure BBC Radio 2 listeners can capture some of the best moments  from the day.  There will be 2 executions  - one pre 2DAY and one post to encourage change in listener behaviour, and to illustrate the day.

Damon Collins  says: ‘We wanted to do something different that showcases the brilliance of BBC Radio 2, celebrating its content range and the diversity of its talent – ‘2DAY’ will be a broadcasting rollercoaster ride that will remind its listeners why they tune in every day, and hopefully convince others of why they should.”
