Norwegian Seafood Export Council Appoints Bray Leino

Bray Leino has been appointed by the Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC UK), to promote the provenance and sustainability of seafood from Norway in the UK. From an initial pitch list of 14 agencies, Bray Leino was awarded the two year contract after a three way pitch against two undisclosed agencies.

Commenting on Bray Leino’s appointment, Johan Kvalheim, NSEC UK Marketing Director, said, "We are delighted to have Bray Leino on board as our UK partner. We were highly impressed with their proposal and their ideas to bring Norwegian Seafood to the British consumer. We were looking for an agency that understood all aspects of the trade and consumer channels for seafood, and how to use them to engage with people with a fresh and innovative proposition. In Bray Leino we have found just that.”

The two year contract will see Bray Leino promote Norwegian Seafood including cod, haddock and prawns, through an integrated trade and consumer campaign targeting food service, supermarkets and fish and chip shops.

Kate Cox, managing director, Bray Leino, said, "We are thrilled to be working with Johan and the NSEC team on their mission to bring sustainable Norwegian Seafood to the plates of the UK consumer. It's an exciting opportunity which plays perfectly to our strengths as an integrated agency,
as well as being a great addition to our food and drink portfolio.”

Based in Tromsø, Norway, with an office network in 12 countries, the NSEC is the world’s largest seafood marketing body and is financed by the Norwegian seafood industry, representing both the fishing fleet and aquaculture sector.

The NSEC supports marketing activities and promotions around the world and Norway is the second largest seafood exporter after China, exporting 2,674 million tons (£5.97 billion) of seafood to 142 countries.
